A Control Operator is an in-house security specialist. This is an entry-level non-certified detention staff position whose primary responsibility is to assist in the safety, security, and movement of staff and incarcerated public offenders in the Blaine County Detention Center.
Responsibilities
Control Operators require a high level of multi-tasking ability to operate technical systems for the security of the facility including, but not limited to:
- Over 80 Cameras

- Security Doors
- Intercoms
- Radios
Control Operators have a critical role in officer safety, inmate safety, and facility security.
Role
Control Operators provide visual, radio, and camera monitoring of all movements and activities within the Detention Center from their vantage inside the Central Control booth. They are responsible for the operation of all secure doors entering and exiting our facility. If you are interested in law enforcement and possess a high level of detail, this is a great way to get started in law enforcement.
Position
Full-time position with rotating shifts; Good Character and clean background required.
