On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at approximately 11:06 p.m., deputies from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Main Street near the intersection of Bullion Street in Hailey, Blaine County Idaho.
During the stop, BCSO K9 Eric performed a free air sniff and alerted on the vehicle which resulted in a felony drug arrest.
After an investigation, Sonya Juanita Hall, age 40 of Camden, South Carolina, a back seat passenger, was charged with one felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine, I.C. 37-2732(C)(1), one misdemeanor count of Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana, I.C. 37-2732(C)(3), and two misdemeanor counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Use, I.C. 37-2734A(1). Hall remains in the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment today at 1:15 p.m. The driver and another passenger in the vehicle were not charged.
“Our K9’s Teams are trained and POST certified in the detection of the odor of narcotics. They are a great asset in aiding our deputies to stem the flow of drugs in our community,” said Blaine County Sheriff Steve Harkins.
