On June 21, 2022 the Blaine County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to pass Resolution 2022-21, banning the use of fireworks in unincorporated Blaine County.
Although the area has seen elevated levels of rain in recent months, the moisture came late in the season, and we are still experiencing drought and fire conditions. It is very important that residents continue to use caution while celebrating the Fourth of July holiday, and refrain from using fireworks, especially in areas where grasses or other vegetation could be ignited.
The ban on the use of Fireworks in Blaine County extends until October 31st. Idaho Code Section 39-2602(3) defines fireworks as any combustible or explosive composition, or any substance or combination of substances, or article prepared for the purpose of producing a visible effect by combustion, explosion, deflagration or detonation.
