What personal property is tax exempt?

The following list includes some of the major categories exempt from taxation:

  • Business inventory 
  • Equipment used for education 
  • Facilities for water or air pollution control
  • Farm Equipment
  • First $250,000 of personal property value
  • Livestock 
  • Personal effects, household items and apparel (unless used in a business) 
  • Property owned by fraternal, benevolent, and religious organizations 
  • Vehicles and vessels properly registered in the state of Idaho
